Feimu Technology, as a professional supplier, produces the Allen Bradley 1794-IA16. This is a star product within Rockwell Automation's Flex I/O family, specifically designed to receive signals from field devices. Whether you want to transmit switches, sensors or other signals back to the PLC, this module is a reliable choice. For those factories still using the Flex I/O system, this is a helpful assistant for keeping the system running. If you need to purchase from us, you can rest assured about the quality.

Installation and wiring terminal block

Select terminal blocks: Based on your wiring requirements, choose the appropriate model of terminal blocks. Common ones include 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S or 1794-TBNF. You can make the selection and purchase through us.

Install the terminal block: Align the terminal block vertically with the connector interface at the front of the module, and push it in steadily until the locking clip engages and holds it in place.

Removing the terminal block: If you need to replace or rewire, simply press the release tabs on both sides of the terminal block, and then you can pull it out vertically.

Application scenario

This Allen Bradley 1794-IA16 is used in an extremely wide range of applications. It can be found in food and beverage production lines, conveyor belt control in automobile assembly lines, pump station monitoring in water treatment plants, and many other places where high-voltage AC signals need to be transmitted to PLCs. It is basically applicable to any situation where the on-site high-voltage AC signals need to be sent to a PLC. In many old Flex I/O systems, this module is almost a standard component. If a replacement cannot be found when it breaks down, engineers will be in a real dilemma. Therefore, having a few 1794-IA16s on hand is definitely a wise choice.

1. Common terminal (COM): Connected to the positive pole (+24V) of the 24V power supply

2. Input terminal (IN x): Connected to the output terminal of the sensor (or switch)

3. Sensor: The other end of the sensor is connected to the negative pole of the 24V power supply

Source type wiring:

1. Common terminal (COM): Connected to the negative pole of the 24V power supply

2. Input terminal (IN x): Connected to the output terminal of the sensor.

3. Sensor: The other end of the sensor is connected to the positive pole of the 24V power supply

Main purpose

Signal acquisition: Receiving signals from on-site DC sensors.

Common equipment: Proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, Hall sensors.

Control equipment: Buttons, selector switches, limit switches.

Status feedback: Whether the motor has reached the designated position and whether the silo is full are fed back to the PLC processor in real time, so that the controller can make logical judgments.

Distributed control: Since it belongs to the Flex I/O series, it is installed in a remote cabinet close to the on-site equipment and communicates with the main control PLC through DeviceNet, ControlNet or EtherNet/IP networks.

Product Authenticity Verification

Allen Bradley 1794-IA16 modules are commonly counterfeited. Use these checks to verify authenticity.

  • Front panel color: Genuine modules use a specific beige-gray color consistent with the Flex I/O family. Counterfeits often have a different shade or glossy finish.
  • Label quality: Genuine labels have permanent printing with the model number 1794-IA16 clearly visible. Counterfeit labels often have blurry text or peel at edges.
  • Terminal block: Genuine terminal blocks are gray and removable. The screws turn smoothly. Counterfeits often use cheap plastic with screws that stick or strip.
  • Backplane connector: All pins on the backplane connector must be gold-plated and straight. Counterfeits often use tin pins or have bent pins.
  • Module weight: Genuine 1794-IA16 weighs approximately 0.15 kg. Counterfeits often feel lighter.

If the module shows incorrect readings or the LEDs behave abnormally, suspect a counterfeit. Contact Feimu Technology with photos for verification.

Testing Before Shipment

Feimu Technology does not ship untested modules. Each 1794-IA16 goes through the following verification process before leaving our warehouse.

  • Visual inspection: Panel color checked. Labels verified. Terminal block screws inspected for smooth operation.
  • Backplane test: Module inserted into Flex I/O test chassis. Module recognized by the adapter. No fault lights.
  • Input test: All 16 inputs tested with a 120V AC signal source. Each input confirmed to turn ON and OFF correctly.
  • LED test: All 16 channel LEDs checked for correct operation.
  • Packaging: Module placed in anti-static bag. Sealed in foam-lined carton. Labeled with module number and test date.

Test reports are available upon request. Email sales@feimutech.com for a copy of your module's test report.
