Connection Guide


1734-IR2K supports 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire RTD connections. Each wiring method has different accuracy characteristics.

2-wire wiring:

Both wires are connected to the input terminals.

The wiring is simple. The accuracy is the lowest. The resistance of the wires will be added to the reading.

It is suitable for short cables (less than 10 meters) or situations where accuracy is not critical.

3-wire wiring:

One wire is connected to one terminal, and the other two wires are connected to the other terminal.

It compensates for the resistance of the compensating cable. The most common industrial method.

Recommended for most applications. For runs over 10 meters, use shielded cables.

4-wire wiring:

Each terminal is connected to two wires.

The accuracy is the highest. It eliminates the error of wire resistance.

Used for high-precision applications or long cables (more than 30 meters).

Wire resistance rules:

Maximum wire resistance: 50Ω for each wire (3-wire and 4-wire).

Exceeding 50Ω will cause reading errors.

Use twisted shielded cables. The shielding layer is only grounded at the module end.
