Feimu Technology, as a professional supplier, if you are currently looking for a ControlNet network interface card that can provide high bandwidth and real-time communication capabilities for your old-fashioned industrial computers or PCI slot-based programming devices? The Allen Bradley 1784-PCIC we offer is exactly what you need. This is a classic PCI interface ControlNet communication card. We have gone through a rigorous testing process to simulate network communication pressure, ensuring stable chip communication and perfect driver compatibility.
The Allen Bradley 1784-PCIC card provided by Feimu Technology is essentially a PCI network card that can be plugged into a desktop computer or industrial control machine. Its function is to enable your computer to directly communicate with the old control networks of Allen Bradley, such as Data Highway Plus (DH+) or Remote I/O (RIO). Many engineers who are still maintaining the old systems now understand that without this adapter card, it is impossible to connect these old networks using new computers. We have specially stocked this product here to help solve the headache of communication issues between old and new devices.
What are the features of the product?
Direct Integration:
As a PCI card, it directly utilizes the bus resources of the computer to communicate with the PLC, without the need for external protocol conversion like USB converters.
Industrial-grade Durability:
Compared to USB converters that are prone to being unplugged, damaged, or subject to electromagnetic interference, the PCIC card installed inside the chassis receives better physical protection and has a more secure connection.
Dual Configuration Modes:
Supports the allocation of I/O addresses and interrupt requests (IRQ) through jumper settings on the board (hardware configuration) or software configuration.
Wide Support:
Perfectly supports Rockwell Automation's RSLinx communication software, which can be automatically recognized and configured as "AB_PCI-1" or similar drivers, enabling easy establishment of communication connections with PLC-5, SLC 500, ControlLogix and other series processors.
Our Certification
We have obtained numerous international authoritative certifications including CE, UL/cULus and CSA. Compliant with the safety basic standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) such as IEC 61010-1, our products ensure that electrical insulation, fire resistance level and electromagnetic compatibility meet strict industrial-grade requirements. We possess the qualification for entry into major global markets such as EAC (Eurasian Economic Union) and RCM (Australia/New Zealand), ensuring stable application for users in complex industrial environments.

Installation Guide – Hardware Setup and Driver Configuration
The 1784-PCIC requires both hardware installation and driver configuration. Follow these steps for successful setup.
Hardware installation steps:
Power off the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer case cover.
Identify an available PCI slot. The card requires a 5V PCI slot.
Insert the card into the PCI slot firmly. Ensure the card is fully seated.
If using hardware configuration, set the jumpers on the card according to your system requirements.
If using software configuration, set the jumpers to software-configurable mode.
Secure the card with the bracket screw.
Close the case and reconnect the power.
Driver installation steps:
Power on the computer. Windows will detect new hardware.
Install RSLinx software (version 2.50 or later is recommended).
Open RSLinx. Go to Configure Drivers.
Select "AB_PCI-1" from the driver list.
Click "Add". The driver name will appear in the driver list.
Verify the card is recognized correctly in RSLinx.
If the card is not recognized, check IRQ and I/O address conflicts.
Common troubleshooting steps:
If the card is not recognized, try a different PCI slot.
Check that the PCI slot is a 5V slot (3.3V slots are not supported).
Check IRQ conflicts in Windows Device Manager.
Check I/O address conflicts in Windows Device Manager.
Jumper Settings – Hardware Configuration
The 1784-PCIC has jumper blocks on the card. These set the IRQ and I/O address for hardware configuration mode.
Jumper locations:
Jumper JP1: Sets the I/O address base.
Jumper JP2: Sets the IRQ line.
Jumper JP3: Sets the configuration mode (hardware or software).
Software configuration mode:
Set JP3 to software-configurable mode.
The IRQ and I/O address are set through RSLinx software.
This is the recommended mode for most users.
Hardware configuration mode:
Set JP3 to hardware mode.
Set JP1 for the I/O address base.
Set JP2 for the IRQ line.
Use this mode if the software configuration does not work.
Default settings (software mode):
I/O address: Configured by RSLinx (typically 0x300 to 0x30F).
IRQ: Configured by RSLinx (typically IRQ 5, 9, 10, or 11).
DMA: Not used.
PCI Slot Compatibility – 5V vs 3.3V Slots
The 1784-PCIC is designed for 5V PCI slots. It does not work in 3.3V PCI slots. Check your computer's PCI slot type before ordering.

How to Identify
5V PCI slot
5V

Key notch near the rear of the slot
3.3V PCI slot
3.3V
No
Key notch near the front of the slot
Universal PCI slot
5V and 3.3V
Yes
Key notch in the middle position
How to identify your PCI slot:
5V slot: The key notch is located at pin positions 50-51 (closer to the rear of the slot).
3.3V slot: The key notch is located at pin positions 12-13 (closer to the front of the slot).
Universal slot: Two key notches at both positions. Accepts both 5V and 3.3V cards.
Field issue example: A customer inserted the 1784-PCIC into a 3.3V slot on a newer PC. The system did not recognize the card. Cause: Voltage mismatch. Fix: Moved the card to a 5V PCI slot. The card was recognized immediately.
Operating System Compatibility
The 1784-PCIC is designed for older Windows operating systems. Compatibility with newer Windows versions is limited.
